About Blackpool Church

We are a growing church in the centre of Blackpool with a vision to play our part in transforming the town for good.

We’ve been gathering as a church for nearly 150 years but we’re also doing something brand new. In 2021, we partnered with HTB to become a resource church with a particular focus on church planting. We’re a fast-growing church so there are new people every week. We’re a hands-on church so there’s plenty to get involved with. We’re a Jesus-centred church, constantly trying to become more like him from day to day.

 
 

Our Team

Andy & Nic Dykes lead our church alongside a fantastic team of staff and volunteers. As a team, we seek to be ambitious, enthusiastic and creative, doing everything we do, as well as we can, and in total dependence on God.   • What happens during your Sunday gathering?

    We meet at our St John’s building right in the centre of town. Doors open at 10:30 when we offer free hot drinks and pastries in our cafe. The gathering starts at 11am with music, someone shares a talk with us and there is time to receive prayer if you would like at the end.

  • What’s the difference between St John’s Church and Blackpool Church

    Nothing. Blackpool Church is just like a nickname. It’s not who we are it’s who we’re for. It’s a reminder to us that our job is to play our part in being a blessing to Blackpool.

  • Do you run activities in the week?

    There’s lots going on from week to week for different people in the church. You can find out more on each page of the website but Alpha and Groups is a great place to start.

  • Is Blackpool Church a particular type of church?

    Yes. We’re a Church of England church, we’re in Blackburn Diocese and we’re part of the HTB Network.
